Training for Professionals
"TEACHING BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES TO PARENTS:
A TRAINING FOR PROFESSIONALS"
Introduction
As mental health professionals, we see it all the time… A child presents to therapy as the identified patient and the parent(s) expect to see significant progress and behavior change after just a handful of individual therapy sessions with their child. If only it were that simple.
In many cases, it is working directly with the parents that results in the most rapid and powerful therapeutic change for the child, and for the family system as a whole.
After completing this training you will feel confident and equipped to train parents on how to be more consistent and effective with their children, ages approximately 4-12 years experiencing mild to severe behavioral challenges.
About
This training is based on over 30+ years of evidence-based research done by Dr. Russell A. Barkley, internationally known for his research on ADHD and behavioral problems in children. Participants will have the opportunity to purchase Russell Barkley’s program manual, “Defiant Children: A Clinician’s Manual for Assessment and Parent Training.”
